US economy grew at slower 2.2% pace in fourth quarter

WASHINGTON - The US economy expanded less than previously thought in the 2014 fourth quarter, at a 2.2% annual rate, the Commerce Department said Friday.

The US economy grew by 2.2% in the fourth quarter of 2014, less than the 2.6% initially calculated, figures show

Growth was revised down from the prior 2.6% estimate on new data mainly showing lower inventory investment and increased imports, the department said.
