IBM forms alliance for small businesses here

Offers Notes, Linux, Microsoft solutions

IBM (Thailand) has joined with three local business partners to launch e-business solutions for small and medium-sized companies here, offering a range of Lotus Notes, Linux and Microsoft applications.

The local partners are InterSol, Business Solution Provider and International Research Corp.

The tie-up aims to help small and medium enterprise (SME) get started with e-business, according to IBM e-business solution manager Supot Chokwareeporn.

Local companies will be offered e-business solutions based on IBM hardware and including applications, tools, services and support. IBM will also offer free consulting services to SMEs that want to implement e-business solutions, including the necessary steps to develop e-business covering areas such as Internet access, email, web research, web sites, e-commerce and hosted e-business applications.

Customers can choose solutions from any of the local e-business service providers.

InterSol offers "Internet Smooth Start" based on Linux and using applications such as Lotus Notes, Web Sphere, Net.commerce and Secureway. Starting price is 35,000 baht.

Business Solution Provider offers "Lotus Notes and ISO9000", which includes services from messaging to electronic workflow and is priced from 140,000 baht.

International Research Corporation's (IRC's) service is "Workflow On the Web" and is based on IBM Netfinity, Microsoft and Lotus applications. The prices start from 500,000 baht.
