10 years - a digital lifetime

A lot has happened, and that's exciting. But a lot more will happen to dramatically change the world we are living in. Those who monitor trends and developments liken the digital age as being as radical a change in human evolution equivalent to an "age" such as the Stone Age or the Bronze Age.

Whether it is called the Digital Age, the Silicon Age or the Internet Age, it will have a profound impact on everyone's lifestyle.

We hope that here at Database we are at least keeping an eye on the fast changing horizon and that we are bringing you, the reader, word of the changes in course as they happen to best empower you.

Here, with this commemorative publication, we take the opportunity to stop and look around at where we are -at where Thailand is placed nationally with regard to IT, both from the position of the Government and national IT Policy, as well as from a business point of view.

And we also look beyond Thailand, both forwards to emerging trends and future products as well as back at the past decade.

Where we make any predictions, we hope we are right of course. Predicting the future is an art, not a science, and only time will tell. However, at least we hope that we have 20-20 hindsight when it comes to our retrospective look at the past 10 years and we hope you enjoy the facts, views and perspectives contained within this special publication.
