Translating newspaper English to Thai

Montri:	khun pai thanon raatchadamnoen maalaew yang
	คุณไปถนนราชดำเนิน มาแล้วยัง	Have you been around Ratchdamnoen Avenue?
Martin:	yang pai thammai*
	ยัง ไปทำไม*	No, what’s interesting there?
Montri:	pai duu faiprada* thanon raatchadamnoen suay maak maak
	ไปดูไฟประดับ* ถนนราชดำเนินสวยมากๆ	(It’s) the decorative lights. The road is very beautiful!
	duueannii pen duuean haeng kaanchaloem chalawng
	เดือนนี้เป็นเดือนแห่งการ เฉลิมฉลอง	This is the month of celebrations,
	roem duay wan chaloem phrachonmaphansaa
	เริ่มด้วยวันเฉลิม พระชนม์พรรษา	beginning with the King’s birthday.
Martin:	aw wanthii haa King’s birthday chaimai
	อ๋อ วันที่ห้า คิงส์เบิร์ธเดย์ ใช่ไหม	Yes, (December) the fifth is the King’s birthday, right?
Montri:	chai keng maak Maatin
	ใช่ เก่งมาก มาร์ติน	Right! Very good, Martin.
Martin:	laew taammaa duay wankhritsamaat chaimai
	แล้วตามมาด้วยคริสต์มาส ใช่ไหม	And it’s followed by Christmas, right?
Montri:	chai laew taw duay wansongthaai piikao tawnrap piimai
	ใช่ แล้วต่อด้วย วันส่งท้ายปีเก่า ต้อนรับปีใหม่	Yes, and followed with New Year’s Eve and New Year Day!

	ผมชอบเดือนธันวาที่สุด*	I like December best!
Martin:	phom kaw muueankan aakaat kamlang sabaai
	ผมก็เหมือนกัน อากาศกำลังสบาย	I do, too. The weather is pleasant.
Montri:	nan kaw chai krapao kaw un duay
	นั่นก็ใช่ กระเป๋าก็อุ่นด้วย	That’s part of it. Pockets are warm, too.
Martin:	ey krapao thammai un *
	เอ กระเป๋าทำไมอุ่น*	Why are they warm?
Montri:	phroh mii ngoen *
	เพราะมีเงิน *	Because there’s money in them!
Martin:	aw ngoenboonat chaimai *
	อ๋อ เงินโบนัส ใช่ไหม*	Ah ha, bonus money, right?
Montri:	chai iiklaew yuu nii keng jing jing Maatin
	ใช่อีกแล้ว ยูนี่เก่งจริงๆ มาร์ติน	(You’re) right again. You’re so smart, Martin.

Language watch:

Martin’s been in Thailand for some time so his Thai is as natural as Montri’s. The features that make their Thai natural are common ending particles like

— la and roe (to make a question milder)

— ngai (to remind)

— loey (to intensify the feeling in a statement).

I’ve dropped some of them out from the lines with *, but I’ve copied them down below for you to put in:
