Vocabulary
check: Another common expression is maiwai, (normally with the shaking of the head) which is used to comment on poor conditions, situations or even someones negative behavior. For example, you can say aahaan raan nii mai wai (loey) if the food from a shop is very poor; or you can say dek soep raan nii mai wai if a waitress at a shop isnt service-minded. What if you want to say the opposite? The answer is chaidai. if youre happy with the food there; and dek soep raan nii chaidai& if the waitress looks after you well.

naanaao
Beginning from late November we have our cool or dry season naanaao. The temperature has gradually dropped changing the wet and sweltering climate to pleasantly cool. If were lucky the cool weather will linger until late February. Even though the cool season appears only for a short time, many people prefer this time of the year a lot. We excitedly describe this as 'cold', which is probably 'really pleasant' to all of you from cold countries. Some, like Duean in todays conversation, wish the season were longer.
