Tomorrow is Visakha Puja Day, the most significant day in Buddhist culture. It was on this day that the Buddha was born in the year 623 BC. Thirty-five years later he attained his enlightenment. Fourty-five years after that, he passed away into total nibbhana or Nivana. Every year when this holy day comes around, Buddhists take the opportunity to pay homage to the Buddha to express our gratitude for Buddhas goodness. Jaeng and Jane talk about common practices on Visakha Puja Day in todays converstion. |
