Young Russian tennis champion Maria Sharapova ends her shining year with a repeating defeat over Serena Williams in the WTA Tour Championships in Los Angeles. The match was the first time the two players have met since Sharapova’s dramatic 6-1, 6-4 victory against Williams in the Wimbledon final.
