Language check:

There are two common "semi-slang" expressions and one slang word in the conversation, too, especially in this sentence — hallo! watdii waa-ngaii waang si kamlang seng yuu phawdii .

Let's take a look at them one at a time:

— watdii  - is short from sawatdii
— waa-ngai   - (short for "waa yaangrai") conversational style as an equivalent for "What's up?"
— seng  - means "to be really bored"

I also hope you still remember that thoo  in rao ja dai thoo pai bawk Anong  is shortened from thoorasap  meaning "to give somebody a phone call".

The topic of today's conversation contains a well-known Thai expression — pai thiew . - "going somewhere for fun". Sometimes it just means to go out of the house without any particular plan in mind. Thai people use this term a lot especially when talking about an outing or a vacation. For example:

— pai thiew kan diikwaa  - ไปเที่ยวกันดีกว่า (Let's go somewhere together.)
— pai thiew nai kan  - ไปเที่ยวไหนกัน (Where are you (plural) going?)
— pai thiew nai maa  - ไปเที่ยวไหนมา (Where have you been?)
— pai thiew sanuk mai  - ไปเที่ยวสนุกไหม (Did you have a good time?)

Vocabulary check:

Use the pai thiew  terms above to talk about a dinner cruise with your Thai friends.

    pai thiew kan dii kwaa

Are you a 9-5 worker? Have you ever felt bored because by the time you reach home, the evening has arrived? If both of your answers are "yes", a short pai thiew within the city may be one way out. If you pai thiew with a close friend and meet a new one, your evening might be even more pleasant. You will fine some good examples of expressions used for organising a pai thiew over the phone in this week's conversation.
