Sap Jaak Khao looks at a selection of vocabulary from a timely news story in both Thai and English. It is helpful for learners of both languages July 5, 2005 In the US, an area that has been hit hard by wildfires is Oakland Hills in California. Here, a fire once claimed more than 2,400 homes. As a result, the local government sought an alternative preventive technique - a flock of goats that happily graze the fire-prone area creating what is known as a "firebreak".
