หรืออาจเป็นข่าวสั้นๆ ที่ความจบบริบูรณ์ในตัวเอง ทั้งนี้ข่าวที่เลือกมายังคงเน้นเนื้อหาที่น่าสนใจหลาก
หลายประเภท และให้น้ำหนักกับวิธีการแปลเช่นเดิม ส่วนฉบับนี้บทฝึกแปลเป็นข่าวประกาศหา

Help for stray pets

  1. Food and shelter can be paradise for stray dogs and cats that are struggling to survive on the streets. But these pets, who once cuddled with their former owners before being thrown out on the street, still yearn for the human touch and care.

  2. 2. Among generous individuals who take pity on a abandoned pets is Samruay Tohprueksa. Over a period of 20 years, the 56-year-old woman has taken in more than 400 abandoned cats and dogs though her budget - and her energy - have been exhausted from time to time. Yet she can't turn a blind eye to these destitute creatures.

  3. For pet-lovers, this is a way to help stray animals and support generous individuals.

  4. Activity : fixing and cleaning dog houses and tending cats and dogs at the shelter.

  5. Schedule and locations : This Friday through Monday, August 13-15 in Nakhon Nayok; September 17-19 in Pathum Thani; and October 22-24 in Chiang Mai.

  6. Needed : 10 volunteers for each trip.

มีข้อสังเกตการแปล prep. of ในหัวข่าวใหญ่ไม่ควรแปลว่า "ของ" พึงใช้คำอื่น เช่น เกิดจาก... หรือ
จาก... หรืออาจใช้ว่า "สุขที่จะให้" จะทำให้ข้อความชัดเจนกว่า Joy และ Giving เป็นคำนาม ต้องใช้
"ความ"และ "การ"เข้าไปด้วย

ในย่อหน้าที่ 1 วลี can be paradise ไม่ควรแปลว่า 'สามารถเป็นสวรรค์' ตรงตามคำในต้นฉบับ
ข่าวได้ เพราะไม่ใช่สำนวนไทยที่นิยมใช้กัน ต้องดูที่บริบทข้อความเป็นหลัก เช่นเดียวกับ are struggling ไม่ควรแปลว่า 'กำลังต่อสู้' ข้อความที่มี to นำหน้า verb เช่น to survive ต้องหา
ข้อความที่เหมาะสมกับบริบทมาใช้ cuddled มาจากวลี were cuddled ต้องหลีกเลี่ยงคำ 'ถูก'
โดยใช้วลี "ได้รับ" จะดีกว่า และเพิ่มคำกิริยาเข้าไป แต่ในที่ใกล้เคียงกัน วลี being thrown out
กลับใช้คำว่า "ถูก" ได้ เพราะเป็นข้อความในด้านไม่ดี เช่น ถูกตี ถูกฆ่า

ถ้อยคำ นักแปลต้องรู้จักรวบรัดถ้อยคำโดยคงเนื้อหาความเอาไว้ได้ ข้อความนี้จึงเป็น "บุคคลที่
เมตตาสงสารต่อ ..." is ดิฉันใช้ 'มี' แทน 'คือ' เพื่อให้ข้อความสละสลวย her budget--and her
energy-ขอใช้คำว่า "รายได้และเรี่ยวแรงของตน" * ส่วนเครื่องหมาย - ( hyphen หรือ ยติภังค์ )

turn a blind eye to เป็นสำนวน หมายถึง เอาหูไปนาเอาตาไปไร่, เพิกเฉยละเลย, เบือนหน้าหนี

ในย่อหน้าที่ 3-6 ข้อความ For pet-lovers คำ For ถ้าแปลใส่เข้าไป ข้อความจะมีกลิ่นนมเนย
ฟุ้งกระจายไปทั่ว แต่ถ้าอยากใส่เข้าไป ไม่ผิดกติกาแต่อย่างไรค่ะ Activity (n.) ในที่นี้ คือ งาน
(งานกุศลต้องทำครั้งนี้) ที่ทำ หากจะใช้คำ 'กิจกรรม' ย่อมได้ แต่ความหมายไม่เข้ากับบริบทนี้นัก
tending (ger.) ดูแล, เอาใจใส่ ในที่นี้น่าจะมีความหมายรวมไปถึง "ดูแลให้น้ำให้อาหาร"
