Today is another day we see the love and reverence of the Thais to His Majesty the King.

I keep wondering why Thais love him so deeply.

I think because he has sincerely kept the coronial oath to "reign with righteousness for the benefit and happiness of the Siamese people" throughout his reigning.

I wonder how he has done that.

khūn lōng khít  dū ná wâ  khūn  āsǎi yù nāi kràthôm nāi thî kāndān  mâimī khâ-rât-chá-kān khōn nǎi ráprú wâ khūn  yù yàngrāi

Let’s put it this wây. Imagine you live in a shack in a wilderness area, where no official learns of how you live your life.

Frank:

láeo wân nùeng khīng pāi hǎ khūn  thǔeng bân  nâng khūi kàp khūn   tôngkān rú pānhǎ khǒng khūn  yàng chīngchāi

บ้าน นั่งคุยกับคุณ ต้องการรู้

And then one day the King drops in at your shack, chatting with you, sincerely digging out your problems.

Frank:

phǒm khōng núek wâ fǎn pāi nâe nâe

ผมคงนึกว่าฝันไปแน่ๆ

I must have thought I’m really dreaming.

Chai:

thâonán yāng mâi phō ná  phrá-ōng  sōng  pāi ìk nāi pī tò tò mā  chōn pānhǎ khǒng khūn  bāobāng lōng

เท่านั้นยังไม่พอนะ พระองค์
ทรงไปอีกในปีต่อๆ มาจน
ปัญหาของคุณเบาบางลง

That’s not enough. He keeps going back the following years until your problems are relieved.

Frank:

phǒm khōng pràthápchāi nāi phrá-ōng  mâk mâk

ผมคงประทับใจในพระองค์
มากๆ

I must be deeply impressed with him.

Chai:

พระองค์ทำอย่างนี้ทั่ว
ประเทศ เป็นเวลาสิบๆ ปี
ไม่เคยเหนื่อยหน่าย ไม่เคย

And, he does the same thing throughout the country, all through the past decades; never gets tired; never changes his mind.
