Chai:	phrá-ōng sōng thōtlōng àrāi	พระองค์ทรงทดลองอะไร	What are some of the things he has conducted experiments on?
Frank:	kānplūkkhâo kānlíangkhōnōm kānlíangplā láe ìk mâkmāi	การปลูกข้าว การเลี้ยงโคนม การเลี้ยงปลา และอีกมากมาย	Growing rice, dairy farming, fish farming and much more.
Chai:	phrá-ōng sōng thótlōng thāmmāi	พระองค์ทรงทดลองทำไม	Why does he conduct these experiments?
Frank:	thúkyàng thî sōng thótlōng phùea pràchāchōn khǒng phrá-ōng	ทุกอย่างที่ทรงทดลองเพื่อประชาชนของพระองค์	Every experiment is for his people.
Chai:	láeo phrá-ōng sōngsâp dâi yàngrāi wâa pràchāchōn tôngkān àrāi	แล้วพระองค์ทรงทราบได้อย่างไรว่าประชาชนต้องการอะไร	And how does he know what the people need?
Frank:	chàk kānphûtkhūi mùea sàdàt yîum râtsàdōn thùa pràthêyt	จากการพูดคุยเมื่อเสด็จเยี่ยมราษฏรทั่วประเทศ	By interacting with them during his visits throughout the country.
Chai:	ngán phrá-ōng sàdèt yîum râtsàdōn bòi bòi sì	งั้นพระองค์เสด็จเยี่ยมราษฏรบ่อยๆ สิ	That means he visits them very often.
Frank:	bòi mâk láe thùa thûkhàeng lōei trōngnǎi mī pānhǎ chà sàdèt thînân	บ่อยมากและทั่วทุกแห่งเลย ตรงไหนมีปัญหา จะเสด็จที่นั่น	Very often and he goes everywhere. Where there’s a problem, there he’ll be.
Chai:	phǒm khūei hĕn rûp thî phrá-ōng pràthâp bōn phúendīn kàp chāobân	ผมเคยเห็นรูปที่พระองค์ประทับบนพื้นดินกับชาวบ้าน	I once saw a picture in which he was sitting on the ground with the villagers.
Frank:	khōei chàimǎi phrá-ōng mâi sōng thǔe phrá-ōng lōei	เคยใช่ไหม พระองค์ไม่ทรงถือพระองค์เลย	Did you? He’s so down to earth!
Chai:	phǒm khâochāi láeo thāmmāi khōnthāi jūeng râk phrá-ōng mâk mâk	ผมเข้าใจแล้ว ทำไมคนไทยจึงรักพระองค์มากๆ	Now I understand why Thais love the King so much.

In this lesson, we look at a way to form parts of speech by adding affixes to root words. One way to form a noun is to attach kān to action verbs like kānplūkkhâo; kānlíangkhōnōm; and kānlíangplā, from the conversation, for example.

The Royal duties / phrá râtchákōrànīyákìt
For the third of the six-part series on celebrations for the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King's Accession to the Throne, we'll cover the royal duties after his coronation.
In 1955, five years after the royal coronation, His Majesty King Bhumibol together with his family began his chief and foremost duty - visiting his people throughout the country beginning with 15 provinces in the Northeast.
Throughout these regular visits, the king collected first-hand essential data involving a wide variety of projects and schemes aimed at bringing his people out of poverty and to boost their wellbeing. Based on the data he collected, His Majesty started many of the so-called 'Royally-initiated Projects'. Many of them were first conducted as experiments at the King's own residence, the Chitrlada Rahothan Palace.
Again this week, the lesson is about the words and phrases used when talking about members of the royal family and other related common words in natural Thai.
