Academics urges 'Thaksin' to resign

Bangkok Biznews — Academics believe the fight against "system Thaksin" will be prolonged. Mr Ammar pointed out the prime minister wouldn't resign easily and would able to hang on for a short period because of his support at the grass roots level. Mr Phasuk urged him to resign, concluding the populist policy only protected the wealthy and worrying that political reform might be bought out. Mr Anek said the real reason behind Mr Thaksin's refusal to resign was his fear of asset confiscation.
