Nui:	óey! khōn pàktâi yàng phǒm tông mī yù láeo  éh! khūn  rú rûeang phrá khrûeang dûay rǒe	โอ๊ย! คนปักษ์ใต้อย่างผม ต้องมีอยู่แล้ว เอ๊! คุณรู้เรื่อง พระเครื่องด้วยหรือ	Oh! This is a must for a southerner like me. Eh! You know about amulets, too?
Bob:	phǒm kô mī lǎi ōng  chāo Singapore láe Malaysia sǒnchāi rûeang ní mǔean kā  thî khūn khwǎen yù pēn rûn nǎi	ผมก็มีหลายองค์ ชาวสิงค โปร์และมาเลเซียสนใจ เรื่องนี้เหมือนกัน ที่คุณ แขวนอยู่เป็นรุ่นไหน	I‘ve got quite a few. Singaporeans and Malaysians are also interested in this stuff. (Looking at Nui.) What edition are you wearing?
Nui:	rûn  ngōen lǎi mā	รุ่นเงินไหลมา	Ngoen lai ma (Money keeps flowing in).
Bob:	āh! rûn  dāng sǐa dûai  phǒm  yāng mâi mī lōei	อา! รุ่นดังเสียด้วย! ผมยัง ไม่มีเลย	Ah! A well-known edition! I haven’t got one!
Nui:	ōng thî khūn  khwǎen yù sǔai mâk	องค์ที่คุณแขวนอยู่สวยมาก ..	The one you’re wearing looks very exquisite.
Bob:	khūn  rú mǎi wâ pēn rûn nǎi	คุณรู้ไหมว่าเป็นรุ่นไหน	Do you know what edition this is?
Nui:	nâenōn rûn  būráná chēdī rāi	แน่นอน รุ่นบูรณะเจดีย์ราย	Of course, burana chedi rai (built during the renovation of the small stupas).
Bob:	khūn hǎ rûn ngōen lǎi mā hâi phǒm sàk ōng dâi mǎi	คุณหารุ่นเงินไหลมาให้ ผมสักองค์ได้ไหม	Could you get me one of the ngoen lai ma editions?
Nui:	dâi sì  thî phǎeng khǒng phûean phǒm khōng yāng mī yù bâng	ได้สิ ที่แผงของเพื่อนผม คงยังมีอยู่บ้าง	Okay, there should be a few left at my friend’s stall.
Bob:	ráp-rōng dâi wâ pēn khǒngtháe ná	รับรองได้ว่าเป็นของแท้นะ	Would you guarantee that it’s genuine?
Nui:	ráp-rōng  phûean phǒm pāi ráp mā chàk phìthī dâai tōn-ēng lōei  wáichāi dâi  khǎo lûeak tàe rûn dī dī	รับรอง เพื่อนผมไปรับมา จากพิธีด้วยตนเองเลย ไว้ใจได้ เขาเลือกแต่รุ่น ดีๆ	Guaranteed My friend got them directly from the rituals. It’s trustworthy. He only chooses first-rate editions.
Bob:	yîum  rûn dī dī  mǎikhwām wâ yàngrāi	เยี่ยม! รุ่นดีๆ หมายความว่า อย่างไร	Brilliant! What do you mean by first-rate edition?
Nui:	rûn thî mī mūansǎn dī  phíthī dī  láe chèttànā nāi kān sâng dī	รุ่นที่มีมวลสารดี พิธีดีและ เจตนาในการสร้างดี	The editions with good materials, good rituals and made for a good purpose.
Bob:	ô  bāng rûn  rākhā phāeng mâk	อ้อ บางรุ่นราคาแพงมาก	I see. Some editions are so costly!
Nui:	nân pró sǔai  dī láe hǎyâk	นั่นเพราะสวย ดีและหายาก	That’s because they’re flawless, high in virtue and rare.

Phût phāsǎ Thai ‘Chatukham rammathep’amulet / ‘Chàtùkhām rāmmáthêp’ Since 2000, the chatukarm rammathep amulets anointed at Wat Phramahathat Worrawiharn in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, perceived to be sacred, have been in vogue One is not enough for Ananchai Boonnet. The 17-year-old wears 31 different collections of 'chatukham' amulets. There are 21 more at home bought from several places at prices from 199 to 4,000 baht, he says. — Surapol Promsaka na Sakolnakorn Phra khrueang are small replicas of Buddha images or highly revered Buddhist monks. The value of an amulet depends on the person who made and blessed it, as well as its purpose, age, rarity and history. Amulets vary in the nature of their power - good luck, attractiveness, wealth, and protection from danger or evil, to name just a few. Most people wear amulets on necklaces in the same way they wear a pendent, but an amulet is awarded much respect by the wearer. The materials are gold, silver, copper, bronze, other natural ingredients and herbs in a special mixture. Not very long ago a new class of talisman started on the road to fame that originated in Nakhon Si Thammarat. They are called chatukham rammathep, named after the guardian gods of the great chedi. The craze for the amulets from the south spreads far and wide throughout the Pacific region. I fell in love with its aromatic and artistic features and pampered myself with a few versions.
