for the moral support
'Justice has prevailed in Thai society'

Prime
Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has vowed to continue his work to
his fullest capacity and bring about the restructuring of society
through political and bureaucratic reform.
During the "Prime Minister Talks to the
People" radio programme yesterday, Mr Thaksin said thank you
to the people for giving him moral support until he was cleared
by the Constitutional Court of assets concealment charges.
He said he appreciated the people's long-time
support for him.
He was glad the court ruling in his case
proved that justice prevailed in Thai society.
Clear directions will be set for Thailand
after the waste of time over the case against him though it
was neither serious nor involved corruption, he added.
"From now on, things will be clearer.
I want to thank the Constitutional Court for its ruling.
"Today is a historic day with the consideration
of restructuring all ministries and departments.
"The nightmare is over and I want the
people to be united and have the morale to fight on.
"I will do my duty to the best of my
ability and want all of you to perform your duties.
"I believe I can lead all of you to our
goal which is happiness and prosperity," the Thai Rak Thai leader
said. According to him, all Thais can set plans for their future
and all government policies will be continually implemented
and improved for the benefit of the country and the people.
His government will declare war on poverty
and other problems and will set short-, medium- and long-term
plans for Thailand to ensure a clear direction for the first
time.
To tackle chronic issues such as drug
problems, government officials will be instructed to improve
work efficiency.
In addition, the government was planning
to push for revocation of at least 400 outdated laws soon. "Thank
you for your moral support. Thai people are kind.
"That's why I feel I have duties to do
and can't leave our country's problems unsolved.
"I will work to my fullest capacity,"
Mr Thaksin said.
