vote tops in the city
Thai Rak
Thai's Mongkol Kimsoonchan received the most votes of any candidate
in Bangkok's 37 constituencies and Santi Wichaipol of Prachachon
Thai the least, with none at all.
Mr Mongkol stood in constituency 25 covering the Nong Chok and Lat
Krabang areas and received 78,296 votes. His Democrat rival Anan
Ruekdee was a distant second with 42,390 votes.
Mr Santi, Prachachon Thai candidate contesting the city's constituency
18 covering the Wang Thonglang area, obtained the fewest votes,
with zero.
Constituency 16 covering the Bang Khen area had the highest voter
turnout. Of the 133,449 eligible voters 99,918 exercised their right
to vote, or 78.8%.
Constituency 2 covering the Dusit area had the lowest turnout, with
59,656 of 91,674 eligible voters taking part, or 65%.
Constituency 37 covering Thawi Watthana, Nong Khaem and Bang Khae
areas had the highest number of registered voters with 164,100 and
constituency 5 in Pathumwan and Ratchathewi areas the lowest with
75,600.
The most invalid ballots were cast in constituency 14, the Don Muang
area, where there were 21,782 invalid votes and 10,814 abstentions.
The lowest incidence of invalid ballots was reported in constituency
28 _ the Klong San and Thon Buri areas where there were 875 cast.
