Chuwit: Soon with personal policy'

WASSAYOS NGAMKHAM

Chuwit Kamolvisit, dubbed the hammer, is poised to take a swing at his enemies.

The Chart Thai party-list candidate has emerged a likely winner.

He said he is looking forward to working as an opposition MP and going after those in power.

``Be warned. I'm going to follow up on the problems the government created. I'll do it inside and outside parliament,'' he said yesterday.

The massage parlour tycoon, whose campaign posters show him wielding a sledgehammer, has promised to expose police corruption. Mr Chuwit has also set his sights on a seat on the House committee on police affairs so that he can keep the police force under scrutiny.

Even though this smacks of a personal agenda, Mr Chuwit, who entered the media spotlight after exposing corruption in the massage industry, insists that he is telling the truth.

He is expected to announce his ``personal policy'' shortly after the Election Commission announces the result of the party-list election.

Mr Chuwit intends to focus on social problems and youngsters.

As a nightspot enterpreneur, Mr Chuwit said he has first-hand information about social problems regarding juveniles.

The government's attempts at solving the problems have been nothing but a publicity stunt, he said, and he was ready to shed some light on these matters.

``I know which pubs sell drugs or exploit youngsters. I have it all,'' he said.

Mr Chuwit said he will soon take journalists to a massage parlour on Ratchadapisek soi 10. The venue, to be opened soon, is across the street from a school.

``I'll show you I'm not going to protect the interests of people like me or my own interests,'' he said.

The tycoon owns three major massage parlours _ Emmanuel, Hi-Class and Victoria's Secret _ but said he is trying to close a deal.

``I can assure you when the Election Commission announces the results, I'll smash the bathtub,'' he said, hinting he intends to would wash his hands of the business.
