World leading hairstyling fashion brand, L'Oreal Professionnel, launched its Spring/Summer 2009 colour collection, the Precious Garden, during Bangkok International Fashion Week 2009 (BIFW 2009) at Siam Paragon recently. Introducing the new hairstyling and hair colour trends is Saisuda Chuawiwat, L'Oreal Professionnel Master Ambassador.

The elegant green Silk Hellebore.

"The Precious Garden by L'Oreal Professionnel is created by Sebastien Richard, guru of the world's leading fashion brands and high-class hair design," said Saisuda. "Precious Garden is inspired by the softness, the beauty and the colourful flowers in the gardens."

Based on two precious floral worlds, Majirel and Luocolor, the Precious Garden collection depicts women as flowers and nature as their muse.

The prestigious blue Satin Delphinium.

Inspired by the French garden, the Majirel world features flowers with intense beauty in deep colours, while the Luocolor world is like an English garden with delicate blooms in all variations, light and transparent.

However, being presented specifically at the BIFW 2009 event is the Majirel colour collection in which three new trendy shades were introduced - Taffeta Rose, Silk Hellebore and Satin Delphinium.

The sweet pink Taffeta Rose.

Drawing its inspiration from the classic rose, the Taffeta Rose's pale yellow 1930s style chignon is woven with soft pink. Inspired by the hellebore flower, the Silk Hellebore wears a chignon strewn with highlights of green, while the Satin Delphinium's showy blue hue embodies modern femininity, like the blue delphinium.

"The three Majirel colour shades are best for summertime as they are the colours inspired by nature," said Saisuda. "They also compliment the Asian complexion and are perfect for the younger and more daring generation as well as the fashion crowd."

According to Saisuda, the hairstyle trends this season move back some 30 years when curls, wavy and knotted chignon styles ruled.

"The soft curling hair, when woven with this season's Taffeta Rose soft pink, will give a modern feminine look to the wearer and also help brighten up the face."

This season also saw the return of the '50s bob hairstyle which is applied in modern style by leaving straightened long hairs inside and sliced hairs outside.

"This classic hairstyle can be highlighted with silky green, the colour of a hellebore flower; or with satin blue, the colour of a delphinium flower. Either one, it will give an exotic, elegant contrast to dark hair colour," said Saisuda.

Also introduced at the BIFW 2009 is the new hair colour mix technique called Majirel Mix which can produce beautiful multi-colour shades of Taffeta Rose, Silk Hellebore and Satin Delphinium.
