The 2008 "Gaysorn the Art of Time" was not only a resounding success; it also demonstrated that great art and exquisite timepieces stir similar emotions. We admire them, and often have a desire to own them.

This year, "Gaysorn the Art of Time 2009" is set to run for the whole month of July at Gaysorn shopping complex. On display will be 100 examples of the watchmaker's art alongside the "Portraits of Identity", an exhibition of 42 portrait photographs from Timothy Yarger Fine Art.

The event will also see the launch of Jewels That Tell Time, a new watch collection by Harry Winston featuring exquisite timepieces from the brand's famed diamond studded Avenue Collection including the first women's timepiece set in zalium, a rare and difficult material to fashion.

Also introduced at the event is Harry Winston's Project Z Series, designed specially for men who like to do their travelling in style. Set in zalium, the Z5 timepiece brings together for the first time a tourbillon mechanism and two time zones. This unique watch is offered with a leather or rubber strap embossed with a stylised three-bladed Ninja shuriken, the symbol of Harry Winston project Z watches.

Watchmaker Richard Mille will present at the event the brand's famous Formula-inspired watch - the RM 016 Extra Flat for gentlemen and the RM 007 full diamond for ladies. Both watches exemplify the art of combining technical excellence and innovative design.

Other leading timepiece brands taking part in the event include Tag Heuer, Omega, Glashutte Original, Blancpain, Breguet and Romain Jerome.

Meanwhile, the "Portraits of Identity" exhibition will showcase portraits from Europe's golden era of 1950s to the 1960s. This includes work by Douglas Kirkland whose photographs have become cultural icons; award-winning photographer Dan Wynn; Greg Gorman, whose work documents the peculiar obsession with 20th century celebrities; Michael Grecco's colour photography known for its content and style; and Jim Mchugh, acclaimed for his portraiture, lifestyle and fine art photography.
