The Embassy of the Netherlands is jazzing things up by inviting the Biggles Big Band to the City of Angels for a spin.

Hailing from Amsterdam, the Biggles Big Band, conducted by Adrie Braat, is an 18-piece orchestra that plays music from the great swing era. Expect to hear numbers from legends such as Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Tommy Dorsey. Frank Sinatra is also a firm favourite to be heard through songs such as Fly Me to the Moon, I've Got You Under My Skin and The Lady Is a Tramp.

The Surasak Montree School Marching Band will also make a special appearance. The school has previously won a gold medal at the World Music Contest, held at Kerkrade in the Netherlands.

The concert will be held in the embassy's grounds on November 15 at 6:30pm. Admission is free, but reservations are compulsory. To RSVP, email ban-pcz@minbuza.nl. No parking will be available.
