Thailand’s talented young musician Ekachai Jearakul will be performing during the ‘‘Spanish Fantasy’’ concert at the College of Music, Mahidol University, on Nov 20 at 7pm and Nov 21 at 4pm.
The programme includes Thai traditional songs, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Overture Don Giovanni, K527; Joaqui'n Rodrigo's Fantasi'a Para un Gentilhombre (Fantasia for a Nobleman); and Alexander Glazunov's Symphony No. 2 in F-Sharp Minor, Op 16.
The Spanish composer Rodrigo composed the concerto in 1954 at the request of guitarist Andre's Segovia. It is based on six short dances for solo guitar by the 17th-century Spanish composer Gaspar Sanz.

With many international awards to his credit, the young guitarist performed as a soloist with the Dr Sax Chamber Orchestra, International Orchestra of Italy, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and Unity Philharmonic Orchestra. Next year he will perform with Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra.
