Fonts for the flood

Despite the improvement in the flood situation, which has brought life back to near normal, the impact of the disaster is one that cannot be expected to flow so easily out of the lives of Thai people. Affecting more than 1.6 million people, Thailand's worst flood in 30 years has turned many aspects of the country upside down; prices increased alongside the water level, highways turned into parking lots, and crocodiles appeared in backyards.

BBDO-Proximity Thailand, one of the country's leading advertising agencies, has launched the "Font Fights Flood" project, where a customised alphabet designed to illustrate the flood's aftermath can be easily downloaded and used.

"Fonts are a daily method of recording and sharing stories from one person to another via the internet. While the fonts we have designed aim to provide a visual display of Thailand's flood in a fun and creative way, they can also act as a tool for people to share their flooding experience with the world," shared Sutisak Sujjarittanon, creative director of the agency. He emphasised the project will run solely on donations, all of which will contribute to aiding those in need.
