While visiting the Mon village in Sangkla Buri, I met this woman who was delivering fresh food for sale to the villagers. She was carrying all of the food in a large black plastic tub balanced on her head. The terrain was very steep and uneven, not an easy walk or climb even without carrying anything. This woman was small and thin, approximately 40-45kg. After talking to her, she said she was capable of carrying up to 50kg on her head while manoeuvring on the steep slopes in the mountainous area. I was having a difficult time just trying to walk down the slopes carrying a camera. I was completely impressed by her strength and more than embarrassed at my own difficulty.
