Re: Safe for travel fo bangkok this week ?

Maybe you end up as human shields when rioters flee the soldiers. This isn't too probable, but consider that they already used a gas truck in front of resident flats to deter the army from attacking... Re: Safe for travel fo bangkok this week ?

Hmm, maybe not the best time to visit Bangkok. Petchaburi Road, if you stay near PhayaThai Road, may be the perfect place to get some sight of the clashes  Better not walk by foot there. If you take a taxi, pay attention that you don't get into a red one that turns into a street blockade. :D

Re: A People's Revolution

Whatever Dr. Thaksin's motivation may be, in my definitely non-Asian approach I find it refreshing that he cut into the abscess. Letting the pus out prevents further festering, at least for some time. Even if it stinks and looks ugly.

Re: A People's Revolution

what has been the trigger to get the people off their arse this time? seems that there has been an external influence to help the "people" get of their arse? Could it be that many people, maybe for the first time, experienced that their elected leadership (Thaksin) actually did something ...

Re: A People's Revolution

For any political change, you need people to get off their arse, sorry for being blunt. Ruling elites tend to be self-supporting, they grow their own kind, you can easily study this with the Catholic Church hierarchy. With the establishment mess in Thailand, you need revolutionary vision and force ...

Re: Debate on what’s The Topic’s been written

Lalida, there are 2 reasons why your and other's government-critical points aren't dicussed by pro-government participants: 1. There are very few valid counter-points. 2. Many people aren't accustomed to a fierce, but reasoned debate. So, given this, they either stay quiet or resort to vile ad homin...
