I have never been invisible to the Thai people, and I have never waited for anything in the ten years I have been coming here. I certainly don't understand that perspective at all. Colin, Listen to your girl. Stop genuflecting to mom and dad if they're being unreasonable. I got married ten years ago for about $1000.00 USD. $500 for the wedding and $500 for a modest dowery. Certainly some farangs are not all that socially adjusted to Thailand, but I live in America with my Thai wife and son, and I can tell you that two Thai women we met here thought they could bring their snobbery and social posturing to my country.
