Re: new visa rules

I do not understand about the exit and entry from and to Thailand by Thai airways and business/1st class ONLY. What has this got to do with the immigration?? Apparently they are making Thai nationals who go home for holidays as well reapply for new passports (after their last passport is about to ex...

Re: Tourism what are they thinking?

This MUST be the reason -- how to rip off foreigners and make them NOT to come back to our lovely country again....Law 1. Maybe that was why they (Siam City Bank) deducted around 1000 baht when I sent money by SWIFT (around 7000 baht) to my brother in law last year from Australia even after the bank...

Re: visa and passport issues

The new rules are coming fast and furious. I admit to not quite being up to speed on the current regulations. I understand that ( for example) you get one 30 day visa flying in and can renew it twice for a total of 90 days. After this 90 day period you must leave and are not allowed to return again...

Re: visa and passport issues

Hello GlobalWalker: I understand how you are feeling. I am from Assam (northeast India) and I have lived in Thailand for 11 years with real happiness and the same things are happening to me. So that is why I have to come to Australia and settle down here. My Russian friend is a rich professor and sc...

Re: Tips on Driving in Thailand

One difference between driving in Australia and in Thailand came to mind this morning as I was driving up to the local shop. It's about turning left onto a priority road. It's well known that we drive on the left in Australia, and in Thailand ... mostly. So, in Australia it is quite normal, as you ...

Re: KICK OUT THE FOREIGNERS!!

With reference to Papadragon, I would re-iterate that the damage has really been done since the beginning of last year in a slow fashion. I studied and worked in Thailand for the last 11 years. Since 2008, the work permit process for foreigners has started to become more and more complicated even fo...

Re: The Value of a Tourist.

Well, the different views and reviews of the role and value of a tourist in Thailand is very entertaining and informative. I have lived 10 years around Bangkok and 1 year in Rayong (near Koh Samed and Pattaya). I agree that tourism is not the only trade (business) in Thailand but one of the mainstay...

Re: The Value of a Tourist.

This is a very precarious situation for Thailand, and the Thai people. Without tourists, what would the common people do? They are out of work! Selling food, khanoms, bric-a-brac, everything! If the Thai smile is absent, most foreigners would go to other Asian countries like Indonesia or Vietnam. It...
