Re: Farang cannot know Thai-ness

Apart from a few academics and those educated overseas :P , most Thais will never understand farang-ness just as most farangs will never understand Thai-ness :? ... While most farangs have been taught to adhere to the Golden Rule which states "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you' :), ...

Re: Double pricing system in Thailand

Farangs sure get special treatment when they dine out with friends and all the 'uninvited 'blow in' Thais who mysteriously turn up .. They're always served last although they 're the ones who pay the check bin which incidently - is often padded to suit the occasion.

Re: Farang cannot know Thai-ness

The longer I live here, the more I understand Thai-ness and the less I like it  ...Like recently when I donated 10,000 baht to have a road repaired in the village where I live :) ...I entrusted the money to the village boss man hoping he'd have the best contacts to do the job however, imagine m...

Re: Farang cannot know Thai-ness

This article has been running for months now but most have failed to hit the nail on the head...Most farangs do understand Thai-ness from the moment they step off the plane where they're met with immigration bureaucracy, treated like criminals and are victims of all forms of rorts and scams :twisted...

Re: Medical care in Thailand

When is enough - really enough? ... I went to arguably the best hospital in Chiang Rai suffering loss of balance and disorientaion and fearing a brain tumor or similar, I requested a cat scan.. After the somewhat costly procedure, I was told to come back in an hour' and I'd be informed of the outcom...

Re: Double pricing system in Thailand

Thais don't realise that greed, an inherrent part of their life style, is abhorrent and unacceptable to visitors and double pricing in particular is seen it as a sign of disrespect, resentment towards them and indicates the extent that corruption has permeated throughout the kingdom :x  ... F...

Re: Double pricing system in Thailand

Thais who double price and rort falangs can be likened to adolescents with acne in that if and when it is cured, it often leaves scars that will disfigure the afflicted for life   ... Thais must realise that unless and until they desist with their immoral practises  , falangs ...

Re: Farang cannot know Thai-ness

[b]What confuses a lot of farangs about Thai-ness is the apparent need for Them to tell what they deem white lies and resort to all sorts of devious behaviour in efforts to save face - regardless of the harm and inconvenience it causes  A case in point is when a farang asks a Thai (who hasn't...

Re: Farang cannot know Thai-ness

I've lived in Thailand for ten years, am married to a Thai yet will never fully understand Thai -ness :? Whilst I rely on such things as a multi faceted education, etiquette, manners and social and legal expectations, such things have little or no meaning to the average Thai  ...Thai-ness has ...
