Re: Choosing cheap Chinese Products over Thai jobs

After reading the many well informed comments on the previous posts, i offer these points. Thailand has, is and seems to be only concerned with keeping business in Thai hands. It shuns allowing Non Thai businesses bidding for "National" contracts (ie 3G, Satellite TV etc). It is like sayin...

Re: A SIMPLE QUESTION

The late Mr T was ousted by a Military Coup, which, in part, was due to his restricting and controlling of the Military. They did not like to have their fingers taken out of the political (and financial) pie. They could not control him, so he had to go. The current PM offered a young, intelligent, W...

Re: The South of Thailand - Why no action?

When i started this thread, i was simply sick of hearing about Thais being killed and no seemingly acting. The Army has a simple task (as i see it), to protect Thailand, its people and borders. So how does having 4 Infantry Regiments in Bangkok protect the Thai people murdered every day in the South...

Re: Western Democracy Vs Thai Democracy

Its been very interesting to watch how people have responded to my first post. I can see that many think that Democracy or Government in general is a bad thing, in as much as you lose any personal control straight away. Fair point, but we all live under one form of government sytem or other, so its ...

Re: Army Change of Command

Not sure what RogerRamjet said so as not to get published. here is what i said (and had published) in the BP regarding the New Army Chief and the military etc. Could any Non Thai national here in Thailand name one General or Military Head from their own country? The South of Thailand - Why no action?

Everyday, a man, woman or child seems to be murdered in the South of Thailand, these include Farmers, teachers, policemen etc. The response from those in power to these daily slaughterings........Lets bid for a $58 Billion Expo or let people vote if Thailand is great and we are nice people? Re: I feel Sorry

No matter which party or person gains the PMs role in the next General Election, the Military will always decide who is in power. Make no bones about in , IF TS ever chose to come back, the Military would arrest him. The Military has shown and will show that it has little or no regard for political ...

Re: Western Democracy Vs Thai Democracy

Western Democracy. Its not perfect, i know that. I in no way, say that there are no "behind closed doors deals" done in western governments. I also know that wives, sons and daughters are given jobs working for MPs. And the west is the home of the vast land owning lord!! But, Democracy as ...

Re: I feel Sorry

Of course everyone looks after their own in thai politics, it an ancient tradition :-) But here we are in the 21st century and no one cares about it. Thais seem so down trodden and fearful. I had hoped the current PM was the future, but he has failed. he too clings to the dirty, medieval Elite power...

Re: I feel Sorry

Whilst the sons and relatives of current politicians walk into Government jobs and the Military and Police Top Brass leave office millionaires.
