Re: Army Change of Command

Why can't we be honest and basically admit that Thailand is a guided democracy by the military? surely this is most obvious by all, why the arguments? How can anyone argue against this? one only has to look at the history of Thailand and see what is going on here, wake up and smell the coffee for Go...

Re: Western Democracy Vs Thai Democracy

I cannot believe all these previous petty arguments, Thailand has always been a guided democrisy, just look into the history! The Thai's have been denied a decent education, unlike Abihisit, Korn etc. Sadly Thailand has always been controlled by the elite, why would they want to give education to th...

Re: Why do Thais have disrespect of the law

paulc, you say that "what is the use of being rich and powerful if you can't use it ", I'm sorry to disagree with you but this does not make any sense whatsoever, basically the rich and powerful do just that, however the second part of your sentence, does in my opinion have some credence.

Re: The South of Thailand - Why no action?

Priority one is taking care of their mouthpieces Abhisit and Suthep, thus the military presence in Bangkok.

Re: Ripped off by a taxi driver

You should bear in mind that the driver might be totally innocent (maybe), afterall the bag was left on the back seat, the driver might have picked up another fare, also if you did manage to find the driver, he could say that.
Best of luck anyway.

Re: Thai alcoholic beverage laws

There is a big problem in Bangkok with rival technical college students fighting, sometime guns are used, and this I think was the reason this law was brought about, hopefully to go some way to prevent or reduce the violence, however it only applies in the big super stores! I've never had a problem ...

Re: Why do Thais have disrespect of the law

How can one respect the law when it is blatantly abused by the rich and powerfull? one only has to look back at some of the judicial rulings recently, and I'm not talking about the reds and yellows, take the collapse of the BBC a few years back, the Mercedes bus stop killer, the driver who rammed th...

Re: I feel Sorry

Please excuse my ignorance but how does this vote buying work? surely if the voting is done in secrecy then one would take every bribe offered to him or her then simply vote for their person of choice, can anyone out there explain?
