The wrong one is still in jail!

"Yettaw will be officially deported on Sunday morning,'' Webb's office said in the statement. "Senator Webb will bring him out of the country on a military aircraft that is returning to Bangkok on Sunday afternoon,'' it said. Unbelievable . Of the two people involved in this 'comedy', the ...

Re: Why the big fuss, H1N1

I notice that fewer people are wearing the masks now. Unfortunately, the virus is not expected to be at its worst this year until around December. Re: Internet banking in Thailand

Get a good debit Check Card (ATM) from your home bank. You can get your money. If not, get another bank at home. I recommend Bank of America for USA. You can even open an account at BofA online.

Re: PAD and foreigners

Well this thread is all over the place both in topic and in location and now in time. However, thanks. Finally a post that proves everything didn't start with the Chinese. Further, that means that there are no native people - Only people who lived in an area at some artificial past point in time. So...

Cable TV Monopoly

Does any one else ever wonder why UBC has such a tight control over the cable TV access in this country? We live in a city with over 10 million, a country with about 80,000,000. So why is it that I have no choice but UBC as a company delivered service in Bangkok? Or am I just unaware of the alternat...

Re: PAD and foreigners

Should we ask our countries to demand 51% ownership by native citizens for all those Thai restaurants around the world now?

Re: PAD and foreigners

Yeah, you never see American Indians or Inuits, and you don't see any African Americans, Africans, Hebrews, Arabs, Persians, British, French, Indian, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Mexican, Canadian, South and Central Americans, Cuban, Spanish, Hawaiian, Jamaican, or other Asian types on Ameri...

Re: ATM rip Off

There is another thread on this somewhere. Basically the answer was given that the credit card companies started charging this fee and the banks were passing the charge along. Truth or fiction - who knows? Of course the fact that all banks here started doing it at the same time seems a little like '...

Re: Is Farang an f word?

The word was first used for the French traders. In the Thai language, there are some words written with a consonant following another consonant and when this occurs it is common to insert a sort of 'uh' or 'ah' sound. That is why we often hear sahtop for stop and Sahpit (long i) for Sprite. Thus, Fa...

Re: Airport Scam

Well, she clearly goes from one side of the display shelf to other side. And she puts something on the shelf. Then there is nothing in that spot and she leaves. The incident later with the separate tables, change of clothing, and then the trip to the bathroom, then the bin. If it looks like a duck.....
