Bangkok Post (Dead Links)

Does anyone else have problems with the Bangkok Post website?? My internet connection is with True Online. Generally speaking, I have very few issues with other websites. But the Bangkok Post site seems to have numerous issues with connections and leaks that are dead or time out quite often. Hopeful...

Re: How would you grade Yingluck as PM

So any of her predecessors would have most certainly scored F’s across the board, in particular for ethics. Most media outlets in Thailand are pro opposition. Generally speaking most positive initiatives taken by the PT government may not always be known because of this. So as you indicate, the curr...

Re: How would you grade Yingluck as PM

I guess I’m the odd one out here. I’ll give PM Yingluck no lower than a B- with her efforts at trying to make the lives of Thai’s better. Not possible to give her an A because of her lack of political experience and the fact that Thaksin possibly might be doing her more harm than good. But if you wa...

Re: Reconciliation and Amnesty

There is no standard in law enforcement in Thailand. Not only in the past few years, but I would imagine since the first laws were ever written. Good basic example, look at traffic laws in Thailand. How often do we see traffic laws broken? How often do we actually see any enforced? I remember my fir...

Re: Reconciliation and Amnesty

I believe Amnesty will not do anything other than create more unrest. Rule of law needs to be followed for those charged with crimes. Individuals, who believe they have been wrongly convicted, should be given a chance for appeal. This would be a step in the right direction. If Amnesty is granted, th...

Re: Yingluck / Abhisit Public Debate?

I would agree with what you are saying. It is very unfortunate for Thai people. The idea of a democratic rule in Thailand is only a dream. With the influential people in control, democracy will not advance in Thailand. Without advances with democracy, I believe the political divide will worsen consi...

Re: Yingluck / Abhisit Public Debate?

What you are saying is highly likely. It would need to be stipulated, if anything is done to undermine the debate, it would simply be cancelled. There are many people opposed to a debate, so I believe it would eventually be compromised in some way. So quite possibly the country may be better off wit...

Yingluck / Abhisit Public Debate?

Should it be decided for the two top candidates to hold a public debate, the organization of the event should take place outside of Thailand by an organization completely neutral concerning events of Thailand. The identity of the organization should not be public until the day of the event. I believ...

Re: Ms. Yingluck - Puea Thai Leadership role?

I personally would like to see the PT come to power, regardless of who the PM is. With the Dems in power, the country is in much worse shape in my opinion. Unfortunately the Dems came to power for reasons we cannot talk about. I would imagine we are in for a repeat of history. As much as I hate to s...

Re: Abhisit: at what price?

This may bring us to ask an obvious question. Why does the Prime Minister have so many enemies? Exactly whose interests are best served by Mr. Abhisit? I do believe he does a lot of leaning over backwards, but I would have to question if this is actually being done to accommodate his enemies.
