How would you grade Yingluck as PM

How would you grade Yingluck as PM

Postby kngdady on Fri Apr 06, 2012 3:48 am

How is Yingluck doing as PM of Thailand? Has her promises and new policies changing the political climate and the unification of the Thai people. Have the minimum wage that was promised for the poor, is that policy still in place or was it just political talk. I know the PM is the leader of the country then why when something comes up she has her ministers or she refers to her ministers as handling certain problems. I would like to know when something happens she only shows up after the fact, lets say the flood crises. I think Thailand deserves more than double talk, but those are my thoughts.

Having lived in the US for most of my life, i am disappointed with Yingluck's performance and the future of Thailand under her so-called leadership. Being new to this forum; I have gone through many of the topics here and am concerned that not too many people realize that the people of Thailand are being led blindly and unknowingly towards a precipice that will not be true democracy but as 'ck' says, an imperial presidency.

Are we so blind, that we don't see or for that matter accept, that what barbie and the puea thai party in coordination with the udd/reds (and under the guidance of thaksin himself), and the parliaament are doing is the wholesale dismantling of Thailand's budding democracy? A democracy which will be replaced by a legalized democractic tyranny that will be done through the revision and amendment of the present Constitution.

To put it simply, I for one do not trust the mouthings of this government led by barbie. Because I am open-eyed enough to know that it's really thaksin who calls the shots and makes the decisions around here.

I can only pray that Pa \\ ////'s statement for all ill-intentioned people who wish to 'own' this country be cursed by all things rightous. Sadhu!!"

I wholly agree with disappoint's comments.

And now thaksin says he will not take any position upon his return to Thailand. Why would he need to since he's now pulling the strings of this barbie government.

But I bet that he will take up a position if asked by the majority because he is so willing to make this sacrifice for his people!!

pm yingluck has shown that she has failed as a pm.

She will turn out to be our best worse pm; followed by her brother-in-law, somchai, then samak.

Her brother thaksin, cannot be considered the worse pm, since he's the front-runner as the least democratic, most corrupt, and having the most disregard for the rule of law.

I was about to construct a grade for the hapless Yingluck but your post is so perectly succinct I should be inviting you for coffee instead! (mangodust at gmail.com)

OMG!!!

After having seen and heard Aung San These past two days at the WEF. I am sorry for our pm yingluck.

Aung San is so well-spoken, intelligent, and has such a presence.

Now compare her to yingluck - who is a lady of few words, humble in her intelligence and thus tries to hide it, and dresses to impress.

I stick with my comments regarding yingluck - she is gonna be our best worst pm so far!!

I guess I’m the odd one out here. I’ll give PM Yingluck no lower than a B- with her efforts at trying to make the lives of Thai’s better. Not possible to give her an A because of her lack of political experience and the fact that Thaksin possibly might be doing her more harm than good. But if you want to compare work ethic and dedication to the job at hand with any of the previous PM’s, I think we can all agree there is no comparison. I wish her the best with all her current and future endeavors with leading Thailand forward.

Excuse me, it's facetious to say "we can all agree". especially if I'm one of those 'all'.

We can't judge her ethical standards as she hasn't been able to show hers as yet.

Dedication to attending functions and ceremonies; I can agree with.

But dedication to the people and making their lives better, i also haven't seen substantive proof. Consider for example the present flooding in the South. Haven't heard a peep from her or her handlers. She hasn't appointed another committee to 'look' into it yet. Just too busy trying to finds ways to keep the doors of parliament open to enable her brothers minions to push through the amnesty bill. Now that's dedication!! But to whom??

Well I guess when you talk about 'lives' it must mean those 'lives' who are pheu thai's constituency in the North and Northeast. But how about intellect, vision, and selflessness - don't they count too?

I'll revise my grade to a 'D', only
because of her lack of political experience and the fact that Thaksin possibly might be doing her more harm than good

So any of her predecessors would have most certainly scored F’s across the board, in particular for ethics. Most media outlets in Thailand are pro opposition. Generally speaking most positive initiatives taken by the PT government may not always be known because of this. So as you indicate, the current flood prevention initiatives are meant only to benefit PT constituencies in Esan and the North? You don’t think maybe this is meant to benefit Thailand as a whole? How do you know the government is not assisting flood victims in the South? Because the BP is not reporting it? Guaranteed, it the opposition were doing anything to help, it would be front page headlines.

Really you guys…! I am amaze by your comments. What affect Thai doesn’t reflect foreigners like you when it comes to the news unless you can read Thai that is. Of course there will be plenty of oppositions with this government over wage rise…….who want to pay more when they can have it cheap..!!! and when we talk about flood we can’t really blame her for that…….it should have been done long before this government came to power…….1983 to be exactly correct. Experience will be somewhat lack but did the last government did any better in the real term? Well at least we don’t have road block or prolong protester anymore so that should count as positive don’t you think.
