Does Ahbisit have the right to lock the passage to my home!

Does Ahbisit have the right to lock the passage to my home!

Postby Voice on Mon Apr 12, 2010 1:50 am

It was bad enough when I was told by police & MP (military police) out side Ahbisit house that I should not walk near his house because he is Thai Prime Minister. Tonight Sunday 11 April 2010 as I return home in a taxi and found my passage into my home have been block by the police. They have block all point of entry to my home. They have questioned me even though they have seen me countless time before that I live further away into the Soi. It might be for Mr. Ahbisit security but has he or his official have ever thought of asking permission from the people who living there in the same street whether it would inconveniences them. What right does he have above other by blocking the passage to people home? He doesn’t even live here yet we have police and check point throughout the street. It is disrespect & inconvenience to me & the people who share the same street with him. I have walked this street ever since I have been live here more than fifty years ago. I think he should have some respect for another people feeling first. He should not put people in inconvenience. I demand some explanation from him NOW! If he really did live in England he should understand what LIBERTY & HUMAN RIGHT stand for!

I may walk street in Thailand. I may use public transport like many other Thai but it doesn’t mean that he Mr. Ahbisit should disrespect people in the street. Does he understand what liberty of people stand for?

Were you wearing red shirt and accidentally holding some red clapper at the time? I happened to be in the area yesterday and I could walk past his house just fine.

Ironically, when I came to work this morning, I had to park my car at Central Chidlom and walked shamefully to my office at Maneeya. Why? I was stopped too many times by UDD guards and I had to lie that I was also Red just so I could cross the intersection.

No, he doesn't. Actually, he doesn't even have the right to be a PM.

Well, if your reason behind joining the protesters is because someone is making your life a little more difficult by trying to protect PM's houshold, then you might as well join them.

I've heard of much worse. You probably find your soulmate there ... as great minds tend to think alike ;)

Dear Absara!
Great mind or it doesn’t mean that one should impose another people with one status. Thing’s can be done through respect to each other right & feeling. No one have more right than another. One must learn to listen to another reason. One has to decide whether or not what another people reason is good enough to with stand tolerances of other. His house may stand there but none of his family is there. So why does he need to block the whole street and the passage closed. We can’t even make our way through without being question of our intention. Are we living under state of dictatorship? Don’t we have right to carry on our activities or walking on the street in Bangkok as a free man.

Some of you may think that this is trivial complain but I have seen much less than this that people make sound & dance about it. This topic is about the right of all individual it isn’t about one person right above all other. If the Q-u-een of England have to carry a passport like every citizen in United Kindom than what special about one Thai Prime Minister.

I’m with you Voice. Speaking of the great minds, I was referring to those fighting for, not against, equality and democracy.

Hi Absara, thank you very much for you respond. I have been writing my comments here about equal right and Thai democracy for very long time now. I believe that for Thailand to make it through these crises and bring good standard of democracy that accept by the rest of the world. Therefore we should be thinking of having new generation of politician. Some Thai Politicians may have all military arms force behind them but people still prefer the government that working for they benefit rather than politicians themselves. Power mad & hungry power that kept on in Thai politic only brings division to our society. The works & projects that should have been done for majority at large never succeeded because of bickering over self interest.

If this road block were done in the name of people I think majority of people would understand it. But why closed down the whole road when they could have checkpoint so people still able to get to their home without having to detour. That only trouble for people who have cars. There is much worse for people that travel by foot like me.

Very common worldwide to restrict close access to political figures, so don't get too upset. A much greater concern is the bombing attempts on the electric grid plyons. This is blatant terrorism and should be dealt with very severely. This kind of action is virtually the same as bombing school buses and the similar acts of terrorism. Imagine the hospitals and other care facilities without power. Peaceful protest is one thing, but this is something altogether different.
