The political troubles are financed and fomented by Thaksin
The political troubles are financed and fomented by Thaksin
The only reason Thaksin ever showed an interest in the poor is because their votes were cheap to buy. He could win elections with a pittance of seed money to the poor. The poor are not smart enough to see that they are being bought cheap.
The only way of solving the poverty issue is by education, training and creation of decent jobs.
Merely throwing money at the poor does nothing other than superficially raise their expectations that if they whine and riot they will get a return.

Learn more and think on your own. Look beyond the propoganda.
How we easily forget about history.
This could have all been easily avoided if Thaksin, who got into office lawfully, should have been removed lawfully as well and not through a coup.
Thaksin is corrupt and which politician isn't. Most intelligent politicians wait until their term of office is over before collecting on the benefits and privileges.
How did Abhisit become the current PM?
Which colored shirts or party caused the airports to shutdown in 2008?
Respond through thought and not react through emotions. Facts vs Hype.
Do some research, don't just be spoon fed information.

Jefferson wrote:Is it lawful to win an election via vote buying? Wasn't Thaksin's party disbanded for vote buying. So which is more unlawful....buying the election or tossing out the crook with a coup? Please comment.
You can't be serious. Surely you jest. You really want me to comment on such a rhetorical question?
Which is more unlawful? Bribing (vote buying) or stealing/robbing (coup)? That is my comment.
I'm sure you'll figure it out if you think deep and hard enough.

How many of your remember that Thaksin was paying his party politicians from his own accounts while he was prime minister. Thaksin and his stooges should have been jailed for corruption.
The key is money. These people would just be big mouths or silent without the money shoveled into their pockets.

The previous responders imply that it is OK to win elections corruptly and then rob the nation by corruption to keep power.
Thaksin was paying the politicians in his party so that they were all corrupt by association and could not initiate actions against Thaksin and could not avoid defending Thaksin because of their own corruption in taking Thaksin's money.
Thaksin corrupted the whole of society and politics.
