Whats wrong in the Kingdom of Thailand

When I read, talk to people or just watch I get a bad feeling about what going on in Thailand, not just in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and in the deep south and have been to all of these places. There is no trust, respect from local venders to government officials. The poor steal to eat, the rich steal so the poor can steal more to eat. The police steal because they think it's their birth right. MP's steal because that is the way they were brought up to do. What can you say about government officials higher then MP's it really doesn't matter they through a few baht here and a few baht there and all is forgiven until the next time.
I was wondering is Thailand a land of money or the land of honey. Does honey get you more money or does money get you more honey. Yes, my friends Thailand is really changing when I was growing up I was taught that there were only 2 genders, a male and a female and now there is a new one the lady-boy or maybe have been here sense the beginning of time, who knows.
Is Thailand going to be the next drug capital of the world? I fear for the low paying men and women who work hard just to get buy are being employed by foreign nationals as well as their own currupt government officials. Ya Ba Ya Ice Crystal Meth it's killing
a nation that maybe it can't get out of.
It's been said, falangs don't nothing about Thai politics but the truth is Thais don't know about politics unless a baht was facing then in the face.

Well the answer to that is simple, really: very poor levels of education and no reliable law enforcement. Everything else flows from these two root causes.

the kingdom of thailand is good in so many ways the culture, the people, the way of buddhism is healthy but what disappoint me is the politics and lack of law enforced especially to the powerful and the rich they seem to be above the law the present regime is also above the laws of the land demorcrcy has,nt prevailed it become a dictatorship to serve themselves it disappointing that influential pers9on within the thai society stay silence the people of thailand deserves more than what happening a ground level l also feel a censorship is becoming apparent

there is nothing wrong with thailand and the kingdom - everybody can choose another country to stay
it is up to you, what you make up in your mind - be a nice and friendly guest in this kingdom and enjoy

I for one think constantly complaining and disrespectful foreigners are a big part of what is wrong with Thailand.
Best solution? Get down to the airport and get out!
As to the value of the Euro, you make me laugh! The fiscal mess created by Germany and GB trying to profit off Greece, Portugal, Spain, and Italy, is causing the crash of the Euro. Guess what? It's only just begun.
Any time you go to a foreign country and try to speculate on real estate you are pinning a big "kick me" sign on your back, so sorry.
IMO if the ONLY motivation you have for living in Thailand is to relax and try to be an asset to the local community IN THEIR EYES, you will get along just fine. Think more about what you are giving, not what you are getting.
Thai people are far from stupid, and yes they actually talk to each other, sometimes about you! How you are treated can vary widely as a result of local opinions.

Sorry, I voted for neither Bush or Reagun, and agree with you statement that GWB was less than ethical. I also agree that much of the contagion has been spread by US bankers. Fact is the Brits and Germans did their part. I also agree with the "masters of the universe"statement about Americans, at least many of them. Frankly that view is one reason I live in LOS, and am thankful daily for the privilege. Having said that, nobody made the Greeks, Portuguese, Spaniards, and Italians spend themselves into bankruptcy. The half baked concept of the Euro zone took down the basic firewall of sovereignty. Having a linked financial system without equally linked political systems is madness. The Eurozone was a noble idea, it just wasn't taken far enough.
The US dollar is trading at short term highs against the Euro and the Baht. Personally, I am joyous about the latter.
