For a group that claims THEY are the “educated” <---- sorry that's a contradiction... I've taught primary, high school and college in Thailand.. I do my best with my students but the system is just too big .. .

PAD are a bunch of racists who show there real colours through this reteric - although i do not think Thaksin is the answer for Thailand i am certain Abhisit is the most useless individual who only cares for his elite support in Bangkok.

The Pink Shirt meeting last week was a cynical plot by the Elite to pretend they were something else - i am a lawyer in bangkok and the senior partner in our firm was personally phoned by his ex school pal the Finance Minister an asked to come out for the PINKS - he did not but this shows the PINKS were simply stage managed by Abhisits stooges.

My wife is from Isaan and the welcome i get up country is a million miles away from the message put out by these elite racists who proclaim they run Thailand when the fact is they could not run a piss up in a brewery.

I am from Denmark, but live in Thailand. I am also following the Danish newspapers, and the planes heading for Bangkok from Sweden, Norway and Denmark starts in Copenhagen (Denmark). This goes for Thai Airways and SAS (Scandinavian Airline Service). There have been no reports that they are "evacuation" Scandinavian citizens. And why should they? Most tourists here are either at Phuket, in Pattaya, in Hua Hin, some of the islands or in Chiang Mai. A very few percent is staying in Bangkok, and those that are, are staying in their hotels anyway. As long as the "reds" dont start storming hotels and taking tourists hostage, why should they be avacuated? Would be a bit drastic :)

To the part about attacking tourists? No way - Never seen in before, and why should they. The fight is between Thaksin and the yellow eltite. Not between farang and Thai.

I think Thai people here are hating each other so much that they want to involve us into their fights. As far as I know it's much easier for the government to step down for a clean new election which then the PAD accused Thaksin involvement with the redshirts. What's happen to the case that the PAD taken both domestic & international airports in 2008 ?
Thailand is dirty with politics and out of control. Too many extremists and hardcore believers. Finally its citizens come out to fight for justice against dictatorship government. The PAD & the government supporters think they're so educated and taking advantage among the poors. Of course they're happy the way the country is now not realizing they are only minority of the whole nation.
The world destruction: the rich gets richer, the poor gets poorer.

Well, now it sounds a lot like the rant down south to me. "Let's all bite the hand that feeds us and kick the farangs out, YES! Then let's all do that new thing: RAISE GOATS! It is the REAL Thai way and not your business you outsiders!"

Third grade educations will always have their say, and Thais will do what they will, but the bottom end is corrupt, it's always corrupt. As it has been for 50 years.

Southern Thais: "Goats, more goats! North Eastern Thais: "Rice, more rice!" And the chorus: "Kick the farangs out and bring back Thaksin! Then we can all work for the Vietnamese like the Burmese work for us! We don't need the farangs to mess it all up!"

Amazing Thailand.

Reading that in combination with the "remember the French Revolution" comment isn't doing much for my insomnia. I lived near the DM when Black May took place, my ex husband (Thai) is still living there. I was pootling about trying to work out the background for this current unrest and I've come away worried that I need to be concerned less with him risking getting shot by a random bullet and more that he is going to find himself in the middle of a civil war.

Well, that's me up till the wee hours chewing my nails.
