lets solve social issues of thailand

In a "nutshell", I know something you don't know.

You know something I don't know.

Let us talk about what we think we "know"!(without retribution)

Ultimately, we would come to some form of agreement of the "knows" and "don't knows"

Path to the future?

Hey PT, I am not Thai by blood nor bearth, but I would fight to the death for my Thai family and friends (also Thai). Please be careful what you say!

The best solution for Thailand is that first they should learn to have respect for each other right. Our economy crisis happened because of disrespect for each other right. Therefore to overcome these crises we should learn to have unity without it our country would continue to be unstable. Unstable led to uncertainty, as investor will needs their security in their investment that provide them from each country. Thailand as a country we have to rely on outside world in business dealing. If they have no confident in our country through instability of our government there will be no investment. Therefore this government should give the right back to its people so that they could vote for the government that want. I hope that you are well aware that this government has got itself through the backdoor led by PAD influence. It is as bad as PAD would have said that PPP was influence by Thaksin. As the whole world is facing financial crisis PAD has put our country in a very worse situation ever. They have created instability that would have to take years to gain back the confidences that once was. It would have been a better way through your contribution if you could use your awareness to warn people how bad things are and to tell them that there are new group of people who will make there lives different for better Thailand and it future generation. These people will enter the politic arena when the time is right for them to do so. If you really want to contribute for the good cause and for your country crisis in the real term rather bring this kind of topic that doesn’t really work in real life. Go and tell people what the future would be if they stop listening to all those lies and what would have benefit them if they would choose the new party rather than those old one.Voice

Why do you people continue to write in 100 words what you could be said in 10?

Thai politics is a sham.

Get real and lead from the front!

So first, they organize big chaos, then they bring a whole country down to its knees, next they take over power even knowing that nobody wants them and finally they want us to do their jobs and fix the economical problems of this country, in order that they can look good.

Get real…

Thai has to be more open mind. Most Thai today is very narrow and does not respect other idea. I say we have to change the own attitude toward ourselves and others.

We have to learn to live in diversity like US or AUS. Thai people love to say Thailand is the land of Buddhism which I think it means we pay no respect to other believes. As the result, we turn southern Thailand in to the war field which starts as the hated crime.

For ourselves, we have to be less nationalism which is totally different direction from this government idea. We cannot stand against world economic alone but it could be better if we stay together with other South East Asia Countries. Currently, we just try to hate everyone and being Negative Nancy about free trade stuff. The idea of close ourselves coz of laziness to do anything instead of challenging the other countries in free trade stuff looks very lizarded to me.

Education is a very major problem that is very hard to tackle. Teaching children to pay significant respect to teacher can be good but it limits ability to child to challenge. Some class especially Thai history is very wrong to deliver. It just promotes the idea of nationalism alone without realizing that the winner is the writer of the history. No significant comparison between other nations’ history to assess the truth.

The way to deliver these things cannot be done by the current available resources in Thai politic. We need a channel for younger generation (World Wide Web Generation as my definition) to have more control over those old people who which Thailand to be something like 20 years ago. However, it cannot be that way coz the change in World Economic, increasing population number, and depleted resources.

For conclusion, we need real Change in our attitude. However, in order to do so, we might need a very major disaster or destruction incident to destroy most of the thing before we can build something with a good foundation.

PS I think I can write 100 pages about this stuff. This is something that I just come up within limited time.

I am neither "nationalist" or "relgious". What you say is true to a degree. There is nothing wrong with loving ones' country or religion. One should also respect other countries and religions, and thats where the problem starts.
I hope common sense will prevail and people learn to accept differences, rather than try to change other peoples beliefs. We all can learn from each other. (nobody knows everything)

I sincerely hope it will not take a dissaster to change peoples' views. (It hasn't worked in the past) As you say, education is the key.
I am pleased you didn't go for the 100 page option. Happy new year!

im sorry but thais today are very open minded and less xenophobia than their previous generations. The new generation are more willing to experience something new and take in other cultures. Take a look around Siam Square at those blonde haired, big eyed, mini skirted teeny bopper dancing to the latest American hip hop tune via their latest iPod. And not just American MTV culture, the latest import are Korean waves whose dance steps can be both confusing and amusing at the same time. Rain is not "nam fon" and Super Junior is not a football team but a bunch of "narak" teenage boy band. Heck, these teenagers now changes gik more often than you change your toothbrush.

It's those older generations who couldn't catch up and understand the new things that hold the country back. nothing sinister or conspiracy, it's just fear of the unknown that makes them feel insecure and hence, holding back the entire country is the best way forward. Once "that" few individuals are no longer here then the country can move forward.

Justice, Abhi is still reading his job description. He was so busy following his dream to become a PM that he had no time for himself to find out what it really takes to be a PM. Maybe his dream may end as a nightmare? Well, I hope he will not be one for Thailand, a nightmare I mean, not a dream…
