But the big players are protected, as everyone, that might have covered up, who's behind the scene has be made silent
in Thaksins "extrajudical killings" in the war of drugs, thats what I have read in the hedlines of some magazines in
abroad. This is very bad for Thailand, as European High Schools, if it comes to teach about Thailands economic,
The golden Triangle is famous for drugs trafficking. Thaksins war on drugs will now be added in information given to the
students. I feel sorry for that.

In my humble oppinion regarding that issue, he never was "on the hook".
Look at it this way, in England, the police know who the drug barons are (barons being a misnomer if ever there was one giving a perceived position of legitimate rank)
If it was up to me, I would introduce the SAS to the police who are following the people dealing in narcotics and let the SAS practice their skills!

Drug usage is as much a psychological problem as a police one, why do users turn to drugs in the first place? Remove one drug type/source and another will appear. Non medical drug usage has existed for millenia, so one has to ask why, it cuts across class and culture, rich and poor, American or Chinese, all nations contain drug users, often with a drug specific to that region. Get rid of the amphetamine trade and something will take its place, if nothing else alcohol.
Most smalltime pushers are doing so to support their own habit, some drugs do not need vast fields of poppies or cacao plants, cannabis can be grown in a flower pot, amphetamines produced in a kitchen.
This is not a problem than can be solved by the police or even assassinations, it has to be dealt with by removing the causes, the need for drugs.
This topic says drug cases on the rise, no comment writer so far has asked why? Surely this is an important question to ask if a solution is needed.

Good point Ian, I can to a degree, understand the "down and outs" taking them as an outlet from their sad existance (if I may be so bold as to call it such)
What I do not understand is why so many wealthy people do it when they have the financial resorces to go explore this wonderful planet! It beggars belief I suppose.

we guess some childish people just can't resist the temptation of having smilies to play with.
a smiley says more than a thousand words about you when you have not much else to say. 555
"drug cases on the rise" 555, "drug pushers ...a daily affair" 555 ???

Hello scy, I tried some "wacky baccy" back in '74, didn't like it so never touched it again, and yes, I am quite happy with my beer thanks!

hi stillnottouching, do you remember your FIRST beer and/or cigarette? wasn't it awful? perhaps you were lucky?? cheers!

Yep, first tried a cigarrette at 14, swore I would not have another. ( I ////, but not intentionally) Never smoked again, until I started drinking lager. (as opposed to "beer") The ciggy was good with the lager so I became a "social" smoker, only smoking when drinking initially. ( I thought I was in control! LOL!) Drinking the lager was OK, it was the first "hang-over" that got me! Again, I said "never again", until the head-ache cleared and so we went out again!
