Free Aung San Suu Kyi Now

Postby 2009democrats on Sat May 16, 2009 7:43 pm

On a hill at Oberemmel near Trier, Germany, sits the successor of Karl Marx and shouts.”Twitters of this world, unite!” (Dr.Axel Ridder (democrats2009) on Twitter and
Education to Democracy - Home) It is a call to free Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, who since 14.5.2009 is in prison again after 13 years under house arrest. This incredible woman of 63 years won the elections of 1990 convincingly and was detained by the military junta. NOW ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Instead of the endless bla-bla in the internet forums and blogs or microblogs now it is the time to start every message with: “Free Aung San Suu KYI now!” 25 spaces only, you still have 115 at Twitter for any bla-bla. We have to make something sensible out of the Internet. WE ARE THE WORLD! We are outraged! We do not stop until this icon of Democracy is free again!

“Free Aung San Suu KYI now!”

Fair enough mate. But why not go a bit further and say; “Free all the political prisoners in the world now!”? Nobody should be in jail for defending their freedoms.

Limelights have not been used for many years, perhaps this is part of Burmas problem? BTW, I don't find anything funny about this poor womans plight.
