Toyota Thailand (K.Motors)

Toyota cars in Thailand are also having problems but kept under wraps in my opinion by the Companies such as K.Motors as the customers don't have the same say as a customer in the United States might. I personally own a Toyota 2008 model and since I have bought the car I have brake and steering problem and have given my car for repairs 6 times in total and they always take 2 to 3 days after which they say the car is fixed to only find out the problem has returned in a few days again and again and again! I contacted them through emails thinking it might help me more and they asked me to take the car to K.Motors where I bought it from new which I was anyways doing and the above 6 times took it to the same dealers for repair (no outside servicing or repairs ever done on my car). Contacting management is no help either; they instead become rude and say you will not have this problem again for atleast a year guaranteed every time (only orally) never even acknowledged my written complaints and they insist to only speak in Thai as I am a foreigner and don't speak good Thai, requested them to get someone to talk in English to explain my problems and I was told “for 1 customer we cannot keep English speaking person” (told to me by a senior manager). Frustrated and really disappointed with Toyota (K.Motors). I also know a few people who have the same problems as mine on their Toyota's and the problems are not being able to fixed by Toyota. My next car which I’ll be buying in this year will certainly NOT be a Toyota!!

My British-made car was not much better and spent a total of nearly 2 months during the first year in the garage due to various problems. But the final straw that made me got rid of the darned car was when the local agent (one of the 2 in Bangkok) cheated me on the regular oil changes and gave a stupid reply when asked to explain.

Neither will it be a BMW nor a Rolls Royce, I suppose.

Nothing to do with the car per se - what you are experiencing is the all pervading culture of "no customer care" in Thailand

it's a national disgrace.

If you were a Thai who spoke no English living in the UK or America, what kind of experience do you think you would have at the local car dealership?????

Yes, as a matter of fact I am now thinking of a BMW. According to me now, there isn't much price difference in my camry and the BMW 3 series. However, thanks for your non valuable response.

Farang in korat, I know what you're saying. But I can speak some thai, as in explaining the problems I kept facing with the vehicle. I just felt to ease my already frustrated mind it might have been better if someone could explain to me in english the reason they are unable to fix my car. Not that I am not pro speaking thai...I like it infact. But an answer like for 1 customer we can't keep an english speaking person is ridiculous coz there are many non thai's who own Toyota from K.Motors in Thailand.

I used to think Toyota service service in Bangkok was good but I realize their repairing service is a scam & totally
\\ //// ! After waiting a month to get the littlest scratch on my new Vios fixed they rudely take my car for a week
and charge 11,000 baht.

I would have to agree with you myles. I even tried contacting toyota themselves (in bangna) when I was facing the problem with my Camry and they are useless too. I have bought another car already, and will make sure non of my future family cars are Toyota.

Sorry for bumping in this old post but I would like to sympathize with you guys. I have a friend in Thailand and he owns a Toyota Prius. He also complains the same scenario when his steering wheel became too stiff and he sometimes he needs to battle with it when he wants to turn into the right. pretty dangerous for him. He asked a lot of Toyota repair questions in thailand repair shops but they don't give him the proper answer so he was forced to bring it to a repair shop there. The reason was that because the thailanders don't understood him too much. But when he watched how did they do repairs, he was amazed and he learned a lot from them. I think there are times that other people may do the right things and sometimes other people bad things just to earn money.
