Why do journalists so often assume that the reader will only read the story if the most sensational or outrageous headlines are posted in BOLD scale (THE SKY IS FALLING, so says a resident interviewed in the street yesterday).
I would like to see facts consistently reported as facts, and assertions at least begin with the person or persons making the assertions. News reporting should not be reduced to the lowest common denominator of attention span. Leave that to the stereotypical "tabloids", which at least often label themselves as entertainment, not news. Am I making a "MOUNTAIN" out of a "molehill", to overuse a phrase?
