New way of corruption (90 days)

New way of corruption (90 days)

There used to be a time when you could go to Bumrungrad hospital every 3rd saturday of a month and get your 90 days updated there.

Recently, I went down to the hospital and was informed by the hospital staff to leave my passport there with a THB1000 and they will get the 90 days updated for me within half an hour. If this facility was only for the patients then they shouldn't have entertained anyone before and neither should they have asked for THB1000 in return of the 90 days reporting. I was informed by another staff that they changed the place where the immgration staff used to sit before and are somewhere on a higher floor now (so they are hidden to anyone who comes there for 90 days report I think). :x

That's really bad... do you live in Thailand or you just goes on business or vacation?
Do they make differences between who has or not the international insurance?

I wanted to know because i'm thinking about going there in vacation

betraveler, the 90 days report if only for people who have stayed in Thailand for more than 90 days, whereby they need to report their current address in a form which is free of cost at the Immigration or certain points that are now diminishing; hence, the thread. As a tourist, if you're not staying more than 90 days continuously, you don't need to worry about anything :)
