Increasingly, despite cries for democracy and human rights, censorship is rapidly sweeping media in Thailand. As a free press is one foundation of an informed electorate and therefore the democratic process, this censorship is a threat to all who claim to want democracy.

Censorship is on the rise back to the days of the thaksin regime.

The power of the government is used to intimidate our 'independent media' and a large advertising budgets of each ministry doesn't hurt either.

Our independent media are falling over themselves to show political correctness by self-censoring themselves and their readership and viewers. This to the point of self-neutering themselves and any critical opinions and comments.

Yingluck is not exempt from criticism or negative opinons. She is a public figure and it's part of the job description.

I agree, but beyond the need to please, the publishers use PC as an excuse to further their own agendae. How anyone can make an informed decision in this atmosphere is a good question.
