Sure, but we still used horse and cart for the big stuff, milk, beer, coal etc. I used to get sent out with a bucket and shovel to collect the "fertiliser".

Bloody hell! I still remember the "rag and bone" man, (horse drawn) collecting jam jars (as opposed to cars) and having a whole lot of fun without money!
That's why you know so much about shovelling whatt's it!
Bet you watched Steptoe and Son as well!

People with vested interests are in the process of building, what will presumably be, a coal fired electricity plant in Chiang Rai amid lush paddy fields with beautiful soil , creeks and rivers teeming with fish but what's more important is that the surrounding population enjoys a healthy life in a clean environment :) Several past protests about the power station involved Government officials and village leaders yet the thousands of villagers who've copmplained and will be effected have yet to receive a promised response by the hierachy in Bangkok. Maybe what villagers are thinking could be true... 'Money talks all languages' ... ;)... ;) wink wink - nod nod !!!

The USA is world largest CO2 producing nation due to its "non environment friendly" energy sources but silence prevailed on globe about it just because it is world powerful country. There are biased attitude of environmentalists which should be checked. Nobody can deny this fact that we should also try our best to produce less CO2 but not at the cost of economic advancement.

Prohibiting the sale of new 2 stroke motor bikes would be a huge gain for Bangkok's environment.
