How to solve Kaengkoi Bad Odor?

Postby mark_04 on Sun Dec 19, 2010 9:29 am

To whom It May Concern:

Night and day time different smells that we have been inhaling either from factory or piggery. Everyday almost of the time we lock the windows and doors just to avoid the bad air to enter but we suffered difficulty to breath coz of suffocation so no choice but to open the windows. I live here in Amphoe Kaengkoi Saraburi in one of the apartment. This my second time to transfer other apartment to choose a good quality of air but it seems that bad odor is anywhere in this place.

Bangkokpost please help us to tell the concern environmental agencies of the government to give us quality air here in Kaengkoi. Thank you and hoping for immediate action.

I had work on that area before but it force me to transfer other school because of that f***ing odor. The local government did nothing may be all corners of their house have aircons. I'm sorry my friend factories are rampant of their waste and operating without caring the environment. MONEY CAN BUY ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE CERTIFCATE

This issue is not new to me. I heard this 2 years ago. The one who suffered on this low air quality are the simple living people who can't afford aircons.

This is the gauge of local officials if they really care their constituents.

The Prime Minister will not ignore this coz I am very sure the victims on this are the poor. let us check the health of the poor people on this area to prove and random test of the air. Thanks MArk for disseminating this.

One solution might be moving to countries like Switzerland and Norway!

I live near Chonburi, just a few steps from the ocean, which should guarantee fresh air....NOT! The air here is so polluted with smoke and black grease that it actually clogs the window screens. When you try to scrub it off, it turns to something like chewing gum. And we are breathing this stuff!

Just two days ago I began to notice a strong odor of smoke in the house, and then my throat started to get sore. It didn't take long to see that some men were clearing some land near the temple of trees, brush and whatever trash had accumulated there. There was absolutely no concern that the toxic smoke was covering the entire community! In the USA we have laws against unregulated burning. Is there no concern for the public health in Thailand? I see workmen breathing stone and mortar dust all day long, and even the man who occasionally fogs the public drains against mosquitoes wears no mask. Are individuals unaware of the danger to their health, or are they just happy to have a job?

@Silaword: You're right European countries are very concern in their environment specially the Norway and Denmark they are the topnotcher in 2010 as the best place to live in. If they will offer me to live there so lucky me.(noodles) but need to suffer here coz I have a contract in the school.

Here in Kaengkoi Saraburi OMG they have been poisoning their future leader. The students' health is at risk.

@Chazthai: Like in the Philippines, the company must have ECC (Environmental Compliance Certificate) but here I really don't know, if has may be only in the paper no implementation and action; or else business must go on accordingly if have amount under the table.

My concern here is not only for my self but for the whole living beings and specially the new Thai generation. Even in my experience everyday, its not a normal odor and its like a methane coming from a big septic tank. We smoke this odor round the clock only noon time is the best time to breath. Early night til dawn is time to suffer.

Inside the classroom around 80% of the students are malnourished (Gov't School) so sad coz they are in the frontline (poor family can't afford aircons) of the odor.

In hospital almost of the patients are in respiratory problems.

I made this through Bangkokpost coz I dont know where to complaint this. Only few can speak English here.
