I am somewhat shocked by the question.
The marriage will not be the problem when it is a local marriage. But when you want to bring her back
to your home country, or have the marriage legalized so that is valid in your country as well there is quite a lot of paperwork.
Do you need proof of income, definately, and not just what you have in your savings account, you need to provide evidence of a monthly income and that income must be sufficient to provide for your wife. If you can not provide any evidence of a monthly income they will not let you bring in your wife even though you are married to her in Thailand, the embassy will just not validate the marriage. Then there is also the health insurance you need to provide for her and sufficient funds for a return ticket.
