15% flighttax on airfare prices to Thailand

27-12-2010: A new rumour is going on that Thailand is thinking of introducing a 15% flighttax on airfare prices to Thailand. This means that airfare prices might go up about 100 euro per ticket. The International Air Transport Association(IATA) believes this will vastly endanger the tourism of Thailand. Which is not unthinkable > passengers might choose for cheaper destinations for instance Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. What is true about these rumours? Is Thailand really considering such flighttax?
