Just returned from Pattaya,Wong Amart beach.
I was surprised that in the last few years this,once beautiful beach line is being spoiled.
The ,sometimes, 52 storeys high mostrosities are terrible.Fineman and his ilk are camouflaging the monstrosities by using the word "landmark" ,the onlydecent "landmark"on this part of the coast is the Sanctuary of truth but this is also now being dissolved into the concrete jungle.
Has anyone cosidered the infrastructure? The roads,which were not constructed for this heavy "building"traffic are attrocious,the drains??? .I wonder if the mayor,Khun Ittiphon has checked some parts of the beach recently or are his priorities with dj Barry Upton more important?

Be grateful there still is some beach as everywhere else it is disappearing. The only time there is any sand at Pattaya and Jomtien is very low tide.
And what about a ‘walkable’ esplanade? The beach pathway at Pattaya and Jomtien is a joke. Rubbish bins, illegal vendors, packs of wild dogs, sex workers and then they clutter it up even more by running events along it and renting space for tent shops!
Fancy a stroll along the promenade? More pleasant in a Rugby scrum!

Does the mayor and his army of assistants know all this?

Yeah right, the place once a paradise now a living hell. Mayor is definitely busy taking care of the family and the area is taken care by other things in the first place. Definitely some awakening is required.
