This will help to get rid of the riffraff
I like it. Gets rid of the riffraff. Article says Section 38 has been in existence for a long time but not fully enforced. Managers of residences, hotels, guesthouses, condominiums and resorts will be busy sending in their reports to immigration, but so what. Newspapers will feature embarrasing photos of lowered hiding head shots. Good riddance!!

I do wish people would think before they rant.

There is no Thai Immigration central data base.
When reporting for my 90 days or when renewing my retirement visa all form entries are reviewed and processed manually. Nothing is ever checked or entered in a computer.
All of you stop dreaming. Right now there is no way section 38 can be enforced.
Every hotel would need a separate computer hook up and an operator to enter the data. Who is going to pay?
What kind of software does Immigration have or plan to purchase to process the data?
I say the whole thing is just talk and nothing else.

You're the first in this thread to say "All"!
So far, the talk has been about the riffraff, which doesn't imply 'all' visitors/tourists.

The foreign embassies and Thai immigration would coordinate to find people who have committed crimes.

Taurus my friend you know I didn’t say anything about all tourist. If they are fugitive they are fugitive no two ways about it. If they are wanted men by those countries then they should be sending back. So please don’t try to put your words into my mouth. I never said anything about resident or tourist as you can see.
When I start up a legal advice company in Thailand I learnt that at least 40 Brit are in jail over various crimes in Koh Samoi & 4 in Korat ranging from drug to murder. Before I came back to the UK we and Thai authority in join operation investigate share fraud which has been operated in Bangkok led by a Canadian. These are small example that I could mention here so if you’re not a criminal then you have nothing to worry about. If I am against foreigners I won't be giving them free legal advice would I my friend.
