Time for Animal rights in Thailand
Re: Time for Animal rights in Thailand
What is at area 51?
Other than being a testing area for teh US airforce, I don't know of any evidence that there is anything special about it. There is certainly no evidence of intelligent alien visitors there - no spacecraft, no space suits, no dead alien bodies. Nothing of the sort. But again, if you think I'm wrong, point us to those bits of alien artefact. I promise to go and check them out, as I'm sure many scientists have already done in the published journal literature on them.
There is, however, a lot of fevered speculation, but we should not count fevered speculation as evidence of intelligence, whether extra-terrestrial or on earth. And unexplained mysteries are even less evidence of anything except ignorance - by definition, a mystery is precisely that = a MYSTERY + UNknown = NOT knowledge.
But back on the animal issue, I agree with the first poster here - if it's OK to eat pigs, why would it not be OK to eat dogs, and for that matter brain dead human beings?
That Buddhists of the Thai persuasion tend to eagerly violate their First Precept is not a good reason either for or against eating meat, although it does tell us something interesting about traditional Thai culture.

I think that the main problem really is that those goons are backed by someone who has a seat in power. So it really is a tough climb to go against them.
I watched one documentary that even the queen's daughter only was able to gather information and not really enforce something strict as it displays the tough battle.
